1) Provider and scope
1.1 The RoomPlanning service (roomplanning.app) is provided by Georg Brünning, trading as “RoomPlanning” (“we” or “us”). Full provider details are in the imprint.
1.2 These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to the use of RoomPlanning and to the user agreement between you and us, whether you act as a consumer or as a business (“you”).
1.3 Terms of your own only apply if we expressly agree to them in text form.
2) The service
2.1 RoomPlanning is a browser-based tool that lets you draw floor plans, furnish rooms and view and walk through your home in 3D. You can export plans as a file, share them via a link, walk through them together with others and have AI photos created from the 3D view.
2.2 RoomPlanning is free of charge. You pay nothing to use it. You can try out the service without an account; your plan then stays in your browser. To save plans in your account and use them on several devices, you need an account.
2.3 We provide templates, furniture, materials and help texts as a starting point. They show examples and do not claim to be complete or to match real products.
3) Account and user agreement
3.1 By registering, a free user agreement for the service under these Terms is concluded between you and us. You can use your account once you have confirmed your email address.
3.2 Your details must be accurate and your email address must be reachable. Keep your password secret and let us know if you suspect misuse of your account.
3.3 You must be at least 16 years old or have your parents' consent.
4) Plans are not professional planning
4.1 RoomPlanning helps you develop and present ideas. Plans, dimensions, areas, 3D views, stair and roof calculations and AI photos do not replace professional planning: not planning by architects or engineers, not structural calculations, not a review of building law, technical or energy requirements, and not measurements on site.
4.2 Calculated values are approximations based on your input. Check dimensions and details before you, for example, order furniture, renovate or submit an application.
5) Your obligations
5.1 Rights to your content. You must have the necessary rights to everything you upload or enter – images, textures, texts, names. It must not infringe the rights of third parties, in particular copyrights, trademark rights or personality rights, and must not violate the law. Do not upload images of identifiable people without their consent, and do not upload confidential content: uploaded images can be retrieved by anyone who knows their address (see Privacy Policy, Section 5.3).
5.2 Prohibited content and use. Unlawful content is not permitted, nor is content that is anti-constitutional, racist, discriminatory, insulting, harmful to minors, glorifies violence or is pornographic – in plans, names, messages and images. Also not permitted are sending emails to people who do not want them, automated mass requests, circumventing limits or blocks of the service, and any attempt to attack or disrupt the service.
5.3 Indemnity. If you culpably breach an obligation under this section, you indemnify us against claims that third parties assert against us as a result, including reasonable costs of legal defence.
5.4 If you breach these obligations, we may block or delete individual content, share links or walkthroughs; in the event of serious or repeated breaches we may terminate the user agreement under Section 11.3. You can report illegal content to us (see imprint).
6) Sharing and walking through together
6.1 If you share a plan via a link, anyone with the link can see the plan, its title and your display name and, if signed in, copy the plan into their own account. You can switch the link off at any time; copies already created are not affected.
6.2 A walkthrough is open for 4 hours for at most 8 people. Anyone who has the link can join. Behave as you would in a real house.
7) AI photos
7.1 AI photos are generated by an AI model from your 3D view and your details. They are visualisations: they may show rooms, dimensions, materials and light differently from how they were planned, and may add or leave out things. They are not a binding depiction (Section 4).
7.2 The number of AI photos is limited per hour and per day. There is no entitlement to a particular number or a particular result.
7.3 You may use AI photos for private and commercial purposes. If you publish them, label them as AI-generated where the law requires it, and do not give the impression that they show an actually existing state.
8) Rights of use
8.1 Your plans and content remain yours. So that we can provide the service, you grant us the non-exclusive right, limited to the term of the user agreement, to store and process your content (for example to downscale images) and to have it processed by our service providers, to the extent necessary to provide the service; for shared plans, also to show them to the recipients. We only use your plans for our own advertising with your separate consent.
8.2 Exports and photos. You may use what you create with RoomPlanning – plans, exports, images and AI photos – for private and commercial purposes. You may use templates, furniture and materials from RoomPlanning in your plans and exports, but you may not pass them on as a standalone collection.
8.3 The software, design and the RoomPlanning brand remain our property. You receive no rights to them beyond the use of the service in accordance with the contract.
9) Availability and changes to the service
9.1 We strive for operation that is as uninterrupted as possible but do not owe uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, security updates and disruptions at third parties (such as hosting or AI providers) may temporarily restrict the service.
9.2 To prevent misuse and disproportionate costs, technical limits apply, for example to requests per hour, the size of uploaded files and the number of AI photos.
9.3 We continue to develop RoomPlanning and may change, add or discontinue features. If we intend to discontinue the service entirely, we will announce this by email at least four weeks in advance so that you can export your plans.
9.4 Back up your plans. You can download all your plans at any time under “Account”. Please do so for plans that matter to you.
10) Liability
10.1 We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and to the extent of any guarantee given.
10.2 In the event of slight negligence, we are only liable for breach of an essential contractual obligation, i.e. an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose compliance you may regularly rely. In this case, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract.
10.3 Otherwise, liability is excluded. The limitations also apply in favour of our vicarious agents.
10.4 We are only liable for the loss of data to the extent that it would also have occurred with regular backups – for example by exporting your plans. For decisions you make solely on the basis of plans, calculations or AI photos from RoomPlanning, Section 4 applies.
11) Term, termination and account deletion
11.1 The user agreement runs for an indefinite period.
11.2 You can end the user agreement at any time without notice by deleting your account under “Account”. We delete it immediately with all plans and files; details are in the Privacy Policy.
11.3 We may terminate with four weeks' notice in text form. The right to terminate without notice for good cause remains unaffected; good cause exists in particular in the event of serious or repeated breaches of Section 5.
12) Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms, we will inform you by email at least four weeks before the changes take effect. Changes that restrict your rights or affect the core of the contract only apply to you with your consent. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account at any time.
13) Applicable law, contract language, dispute resolution
13.1 The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law only applies insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence.
13.2 If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract is the provider's registered place of business.
13.3 The contract language is German. The English version of these Terms is a translation; the German version is binding.
13.4 We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
